Further to the Club’s Official Safety notice sent to all members on the 23rd February 2024; The Board wish to remind all members of our published policy regarding Cart use. You may recall that we had a serious incident with a Cart rolling on a steep slope on the 5th tee. This resulted in 2 members narrowly avoiding serious harm when the cart rolled on them. This could so easily have been a fatal incident, hence the insistence of Cart users adhering to this policy:

  1. All Slopes: Some areas of the course feature slopes that can pose a risk, particularly when navigating with a golf cart. Exercise caution and maintain control while traversing these areas.
  2. 2nd Tee: Please do not drive up on to the 2nd tee. All carts must park at the bottom of the stairs and players must walk up to the tee.
  3. 3rd Hill: Be cautious when approaching and navigating the 3rd hill, as it can present challenges for cart users. Please stay on the ashphalt path.
  4. 5th Tee: Exercise particular care at the 5th tee. Please park carts in the area designated for cart/trundler parking and walk to the tee. Directional markers indicate no go zones and signs clearly state no carts allowed.
  5. 9th Tee: Do not park on the tee or on the side of the slope. A directional sign indicates where carts must drive.
  6. 12th Hole: Be mindful of hazards on the 12th hole, and take appropriate precautions while navigating this area. All carts should park adjacent to the 13th tee and players should walk to the green.

GENERAL REMINDERS:

  • Stay on Paths: Please keep golf carts on designated paths at all times. This helps preserve the course and ensures a smoother experience for all players.
  • Do Not Drive on Tees or Greens: Avoid driving carts on tees & greens, as this can damage the turf and impact the playability of the course.
  • Maintain Distance: Keep a safe distance of at least 10 meters away from greens, bunkers, and tees to prevent any inadvertent damage.
  • Restrictions of Use: Cart users must hold a current drivers licence, children are not allowed to drive carts, alcohol must not be consumed while driving and a maximum of 2 people allowed in the cart.

It is very disappointing to note that members are ignoring this policy & continue to put themselves, their fellow golfers and Club Officials at risk. There are serious consequences for the Club if we have further incidents of Carts rolling and members being injured.

Please be aware that any members identified not observing this policy will be spoken to and could face disciplinary action which may regretfully include the removal of the privilege of using a Cart.
