ON COURSE
A Few Words from our Course Superintendent - Carl Rumble

Course Report April 2021

General: Renovation Week saw us have a really busy start to the month. With two workers away and a short week, there was a lot of work to do in a short amount of time. However, the team did an exceptional job. We now have our full team back and are now catching up with other course maintenance.

Greens: The greens have just been cored, seeded and fertilized. Currently the greens are recovering very well. We have cut them a few times already and now have them at 4.5mm this is only .5 of a millimeter longer than our normal length. A great result in such a short time. Once we stop picking up sand in our mower catchers, we will then be ready to start rolling again.

Project: During renovation week we had BOP Asphalt here doing work on the new path from the 3rd green to the 4th tee area. We are very happy with the finished product. We have seeded the area and now are ready to move onto the next step. We will be installing new drainage at the r/h side of the 3rd green leading up to the path to dry out that area in winter. This will commence shortly.

Tees: We will be doing some work on the tees  - this will involve verti draining and fertilizing. We will get this done during the following weeks and will not interrupt any play.

Fairways: We will be spraying them next month with a pre emergent herbicide. This will stop any weeds coming through in winter.

New worker: We are pleased to now have Karl Knedler as a full time employee.
