Welcome back after the course being closed for the week due to annual course renovations. We communicated to you on 15 March regarding the work that was planned in renovation week. However, maybe we didn't explain what you should expect on your return to the course. Apologies for this.

 

The Scarifying of the tees, greens and surrounds was quite an intrusive/aggressive process. The course will take several weeks to recover. The Course Superintendent has indicated that it will be the end of April before we start to see some good recovery. The work was essential to ensure the health of the turf and an improved playing surface through the winter months. Please refer to the local rules board for relief instructions.

 

We have received some negative feedback from members who expected something better when they returned. This is unrealistic and we ask for your patience and understanding over the next few weeks. It always seems like such a shame to have to tear up the course when it was seemingly in great condition, however, we need to take one step back to allow us to take 2 steps forward. Our staff are fully qualified Turf Managers and do know what they are doing.

 

If you have any further questions, please speak to your relevant Captain. Please don't take out your frustrations on the Pro Shop or Greens staff.
