Hi Ladies

Well Spring has sprung, & we are approaching the end of our golf season! Thankfully we have not had too much weather influence on our golf days. Sure there has been a lot of rain, but mostly on Mondays ( Sorry Julie!)....& very few frosts.

Over the winter Wednesday ladies have had 3 Top Cat competitions, won by Gaye Hart, Leanne Smith & Fay Paterson. Thankyou to Bayleys & Lynette Baker for continued sponsorship of this popular competition. Fay also had a hole-in-one on #14 recently – congratulations Fay.

Saturday & Wednesday ladies recently completed Strokeplay Championships. Well done everyone who competed & completed. Silver winner was Wendy Hanna, R/U Margot McCool; Bronze 1 taken out by Anne Moffatt, R/U Kim Copestake; Bronze 2 won by Raewyn Varhalamas, R/U Alison Wieringa.

We are now starting Matchplay Championships leading up to Finals Day 27th October. Good luck to all involved.

18-hole ladies held their annual Open Spring Tournament on 27th August, this year being a Silver/Bronze format. Sponsors were New World Gate Pa. There were visitors from 12 clubs in a field of 74. There were a number of cancellations which was disappointing. However Monday was a beautiful day (for a change), prizes were generous, & the raffle table was fantastic. Lots of great feedback, & well done to my committee for their efforts.

9-hole ladies are holding a reunion dinner on Wednesday 26th September. This is recognising 20 years of 9-hole golf . Anyone interested can contact Carolyn Jeffery. If you have any relevant photos, please let Carolyn know.

Women Vets (18 hole) have their Althorp 50+ Open tournament on Monday 17th September – entries to Raewyn Varhalamas please. President's Day was held on Monday, with Val Hunter winning the Kathy Gregg President's Trophy. Great job current President, Julie Whittaker.

With matchplay action, Finals Day, renovation week , then end-of-year & Christmas events it is 'all-go'! So hope everyone gets involved, & enjoys golf in hopefully drier & warmer conditions.
