General: March was a busy month with a lot of things happening. You would have seen a few things going on..
We had a stump grinder in to remove a few stumps on the 3rd, 4th, 9th 10th, 14th . Now that the stump has been removed on the 4th we have completed the earth works on the bank, and will now shape, bark and plant that area.
Next week we will be doing a greens renovation and the course will be closed from April 6th till - 9th. On the Wednesday of reno week, the Clubroom team will be hosting a fitting expo on the 11th hole, so even though the course will be closed, members can come down and check out some awesome new gear and have a few hits. For those members that want to practice during coring week, the high performance (alongside the 2nd fairway) will be open for use. All other practice ranges will be closed.
Greens: Now that summer is over the greens team are really excited to do renovation on the greens and let them have their much needed rest. The greens will be cored, seeded sanded and fertilized. It will take approximately 4 weeks for the greens to recover following coring. This is an essential practice and will ensure the ongoing health of the greens.
Projects: During renovation week asphalt and kerbing work will be done on the pathway from the 3rd Green to the 4th tee
The stump grinder will also be in to work on removing the exposed roots from the old Moreton Bay Fig tree. This area is very scruffy with exposed roots, and bare patches. My intention is to renovate this area and seed it.
On Course Practice: Please remember that we have a Club Policy - 2 Balls maximum when you are practicing on course. We have plenty of practice areas if you want to hit lots of balls but please - just 2 balls on course.
