Dear Guest, Wednesday, 16 December, 2020

Just a quick newsletter to round off the year!

Congratulations to all the various groups for holding really fun, successful Closing Days and Xmas Hamper Days. I was lucky enough to attend every one of them and you all went to so much trouble to ensure a great day was had by all. Strawberries, chocolates, hams, Christmas cakes, even a few bottles of the good stuff, were all up for grabs. Christmas fairies, Elves, lady Santas, a few Mary Xmases and even a couple of Xmas Tarts, were out there with club in hand! In fact I know there were two slightly broken Xmas Tarts out there on Wednesday ladies hamper day, dishing out strawberries and chocolates – great to see you both mending Margot and Viv. The Lady Vets and the 9 Hole Ladies lunches were a treat so a big thank you to the kitchen staff too.

Our Convenors’ for 2021 have emerged from the various groups’ AGMs and they are :-

9 Hole Ladies : Marion Guy

Lady Vets : Chris Carrington

Saturday Ladies : Wendy Hanna

Wednesday Ladies : Lindy Bryant

Calendar 2021/22

It is a big job collating the programmes of the various womens and mens groups for the whole year, but we are nearly there. It is also a massive job for Keegan our Golf Ops man, to load the completed programme onto the website. We have a few events to finalise and then you will be able to see this on our club website. We are again going to produce our Ladies Club Programme Booklet and this will be available before our Opening Days at $2 each.

We are looking forward to a very positive 2021 without the interruptions encountered by “you know what” this year. A full year of golfing and as much competition as you wish or as many relaxed or casual games your heart desires. Our course is looking great and Karl Rumble and his team are doing everything they can to give you our members, the best golfing experience possible.

Don’t forget to get in early if you wish to play during the Christmas/New Year break which starts Monday 21st December and ends Sunday 10th January. 6th January is the 3rd Round of Marillier Cup so you need to book your tee time in advance, making sure that to be in the competition, you tee off no later than 1pm. We have tee times set aside for Wednesday ladies from 8.30 – 10am on 6 January, so make sure you are on to it!

On behalf of your Ladies Player Group committee, I wish you all a fantastic festive season and a positive and prosperous New Year. Stay safe and we will see you out on the course next year! Warmest wishes.
