It’s great to see such good numbers attending our Tuesday Seniors events with approximately 80 of you regularly playing. While Covid lurks we still need to show some caution so that our behaviours are a little more entrenched in case the second wave jumps out into the community. If you have the golf app on your phone, please continue to check in each playing day or visit to the club.
Sponsorship
Your weekly rounds are supported by the generous help of our sponsors and we urge you to utilise them where possible. To ensure we continue to offer you the best we can, our constant quest for sponsors remains an ongoing challenge. If you know of any or could assist with our approach to any sponsor, please mention this to any of the committee members who will gladly follow-up on the matter.
New Members
We would like to welcome the new members of the Tauranga Seniors. Some you will recognise as a familiar face who has resumed their link with the Tuesday team. To those who have joined us recently, please enjoy the friendship and challenges that the day offers.

Card Completion
A reminder that when you have signed of your card and it is entered into the DOTGOLF system it is final. If you have made a mistake or your marker made a mistake and it is scanned then you cant ask for subsequent change. Rule 3.3b (3) outlines the matter, if you return a score higher than actual, that number stands. If you return a number lower than you scored, the player is disqualified. It is easy to quickly sign off a card from a marker without checking properly, make sure it is accurate. Players/markers sometimes use other than the first left hand column in the card to show the hole score. Please only use the first column on the left because that is the only one the scanner reads as the total result handwritten in addition to the ‘crosses’ on the left of the card.
Timely Arrival at Tees
With the fields large and the wish for prompt playing, we ask that players are ready in advance of their tee time. This may mean getting to the course earlier or making sure you register for the day quickly to avoid unnecessary delays or penalties under the rules. Rule 5.3 in your rule book outlines your responsibility.
9 Hole Play
You will have noticed a new group that has joined us on a Tuesday and they are the 9 hole players. We understand there are players who would like to join us for the social link but for various reasons prefer to play a shorter game. To assist these golfers and keep them as part of the group we have enabled some tee space in the afternoon for them to enjoy 9 holes of golf and being able to socialise with the other players at the conclusion. There may be some fine tuning to get it adjusted to work best but we welcome these players as part of the regular Tuesday Seniors.
Good golfing
Eddie
