Dear Guest, Friday, 12 June, 2020

FROM THE FRONT OFFICE
YAY - We did it!

Alert Level 1 - How good was that to hear those words. I want to acknowledge and thank you all for your patience and acceptance of the changes in procedures that we had to implement during this strange and historic moment in history. You have been kind, accepting and extremely supportive of the Club. It has been fantastic to see full fields and lots of happy faces - new and old. We are essentially back to normal in all respects. All we ask is that you continue with the hand washing and sanitising & of course, if you are not well, please stay home.

Contact Tracing
At Alert level 1, record keeping to enable contact tracing is not a requirement. However, as part of public vigilance, it is still encouraged. So please continue to use the Dotgolf checkin app or scan the QR codes around the Clubhouse. We truly hope that we have this bug beaten but if we do have a return, it will be important to access contact tracing information.

Cafe/Bar
We are pleased to advise that we are back to our full menu - Milkshakes, Burgers, Shared Platters are all back!
We have also decided to leave the tables set with 4 chairs. The tables are designed for 4 people to be seated comfortably. It is also much easier for staff to vacuum and clean. Those chairs and tables are extremely heavy. You are welcome to join tables if you want but we just ask that you move them back when you leave.

A friendly reminder that we no longer issue or redeem Coffee cards. These were phased out some time ago.
I am in the process of installing a new Till system for the Bar & Cafe. This new system will have the ability for you to load credit onto your own "house account" so that we can streamline payments and look at rewarding frequent spenders with loyalty points. I will update you more in a few weeks when we are ready to install.

 Regards, Michelle

GOLF CLUB PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
GCPLA
I am often asked if the Club has insurance to cover acidental damage to neighbouring properties or vehicles in the carpark? Up until just recently, these types of Insurance have been quite costly and too restrictive. I am pleased to advise that we have been able to secure a policy through a NZ Golf partnership with Apex Insurance.

Golf Ball Strikes Endorsement:
This policy extends to cover Claims for Property Damage to third party property caused by Golfers striking golf balls whilst on an Insured’s golf course where the Property Damage is unintended by the Insured and/or Golfer.
For the purpose of this endorsement Golfer means a person participating in the game of golf that is either a member of the Insured, a member of a club that is affiliated to the Insured or a fee paying visitor.

The excess for this cover is $100.

So, if you accidentally cause some damage, Please let me know so that we can activate a claim.

New Zealand Golf service providers, and Talking Performance Podcast hosts, Jay Carter and David Galbraith team up once again to talk mind skills in regard to golf and life on Hyundai New Zealand’s Facebook page.

This duo have hosted some of New Zealand’s top performing coaches and athletes on their own Talking Performance Facebook and Podcast platforms, but this time they put their own thoughts forward while also answering questions on Hyundai New Zealand’s Facebook page.

This is an interesting and informative discussion delving into how to grow your love of golf.

As David Galbraith succinctly summarises at the very beginning of this video, golf is a great metaphor for life, it’s a reflection of who you are. Are you obsessed with the outcome, with the score, or is there something more?

CELLPHONES ON COURSE
Back in the olden days... there used to be some old fashioned rules about not taking your cellphone on the course. Nowadays, we encourage you to have your phones with you in case of medical emergency. If someone is ill or injured, it is vital that you can access assistance as soon as possible by dialling 111. Also note that we have a Defibrillator in the Pro Shop so we urge you all to programme in the Club phone number - 07 5788465 just in case the defib is required.

Obviously, we would expect that members don't chit chat on their phones during a round but maybe have the phone on silent or airplane mode so that if it does ring, you won't upset your fellow golfers.

The other reason you should take your phone is so that you can use the new electronic scorecard. This is a great option for a casual game of golf & ideal on a rainy day when scorecards tend to get a bit soggy. DotGolf are developing the electronic scorecard to include the ability to score 4 players, live leaderboard & the ability to enter competitions. In the meantime, give it a go!
