Dear Guest, Friday, 20 March, 2020

Further to my email earlier this week, we are constantly reviewing our operations with a focus on the health & safety of our members & staff. We want to do everything we possibly can to ensure that you can continue to play your golf and enjoy the facilities.
We rely on your support and acceptance of any decisions that are communicated regardless of your personal opinion. At this time, all decisions around operational changes are being made by our Chairman - Paul Gartner. This is not a time for decisions by committee or member consultation. Please be assured that decisions are not made lightly and they will be made based on advice from Government and our National body (NZ Golf).
From today, the following procedures will be in place:

  • Please do not remove or attend the flagstick. If your ball goes in the hole and you need to remove the flagstick, please do so wearing a glove.
  • Gimmies are allowed from 1 foot
  • Bunker rakes have been removed - a local rule is now in place. (1 club length place in the bunker - no nearer to the hole)
  • The current strokeplay champs will continue, but we will review any further upcoming competitions
  • The tee sheets will now open 7 days ahead rather than 14 days. This is to allow us the ability to change tee sheets if we feel this is necessary. We may need to move to a 1 tee start to spread the flow of people through the pro shop and clubhouse.
  • All members must draw a scorecard so that we know who we have on course each day. If we have an outbreak at the club, it is vital that we know who may have been in contact with that person.
  • The scorecard scanners have been removed from the clubhouse. Please place your card on the box and staff will scan throughout the day. There will be no official prizegivings, results will be published online.
  • Shared food options have been removed from the cafe menu. Please do not purchase any food with the intention of sharing. The staff have single serve options available for fish n chips and wedges.
Please also respect the clubs request to stay away if you have recently returned from overseas. We ask that you stay away for 14 days from the date of your return regardless if this was before or after the curfew. It would seem that most of the new cases have been people returning to NZ before 15 March so this is why we have asked for your to show some personal responsibility around this. I have had some members challenge this request which is simply not appreciated. We are making decisions that are designed to protect the majority & to ensure that our members can continue to play their golf in relative safety.

Thanks to all that have been supportive and kind to the staff. We are doing our best.

Have a safe and happy weekend
