The Board Of Management have reviewed operational requirements, budgets, cost of living indicators and have resolved to increase subscriptions by 5% for the Membership year 1 February 2020 – 31 January 2021.
At the same time, we will be removing the $35 competition fee.
All members with playing rights have traditionally been required to pay a Competition Fee. This fee has been passed on to the Men’s & Women’s Committees for prizes and other competition costs. Over the years, many members have challenged this fee, as they don’t participate in Club Competitions. The Board have considered these comments and feel that a user pays model is fairer. In this respect, committees will be asked to look at funding competitions through entry fees, raffles and other committee generated funds.
The Club will also look at sponsorship opportunities to support the committees. The Club will cover the cost of running the main Club Championships – Matchplay,Strokeplay & Representative Golf expenses.
The removal of the competition fee will reduce the overall impact of the 5% increase and in some cases, the total membership fee will be slightly lower than the current fees.
The Board are keen to continue investing in the development of the course with improved and consistent playing surfaces. We are proud of the work that has been achieved so far and will continue to focus on making the Tauranga Golf Club the best members course in the Bay!

Board Chairman
