Hi ladies

Hope you aren't suffering 'withdrawal symptoms'! Due to weather, Carrus & ANZAC Day we are missing 3 weeks of Wednesday competitions (Saturday ladies not quite so deprived!). JC Golf are running an all day haggle on ANZAC Day so if you want to have a game, please book online. The Cafe will not be open on ANZAC Day but the Bar will be open from 1pm with limited food for sale.

Wednesday 11th April was cold & wet at tee-off time – I postponed the competitions as few wanted to play & the sudden chill could have been dangerous.

Therefore May 2nd, our next Wednesday draw has several competitions, all of them stableford – Top Cat 3, Vets Tray (open to all), Area Stableford (homelinks comp, & please put your cards in the box by the scanners), & Olga Johnson Pairs - & you will see that you have been drawn with your partner.

It seems we have about 18 ladies playing @ Cambridge in our annual Interclub with them & Rotorua. Please be there by 9am for morning tea, with a 9.30 start. Thanks to those who are coming – if you have a purple Tauranga shirt please wear. I have some ex-pennant shirts that I will bring, but not compulsory.

Congratulations to LGU 3 winners - Silver – Pam Singh - nett 68,

Br 1 – Viv Coughlan – nett 67

Br 2 – Clare Walker – nett 68

Also good luck to our team for the Club Teams Competition at Thames on 7th May -

Julie Eagle, Lindy Bryant, Anne Partridge & Kim Copestake

Matchplay Pennants - our mid-week team is 4th in both divisions, but in contention. Silver are within 1.5 points of 3 clubs tied first … final round is @ Omokoroa on May 21st.

Saturday girls are leading with their final round @ Omanu this Sunday – good luck girls!

It was great to watch the Carrus last week. Well done to all the volunteers, including 6 of us ladies who manned food stations on Pro-Am day, to earn some $$$s for our funds – also was fun, though rather chilly... Good galleries – thankyou to those who came to watch.

I would like to congratulate Jodae Ngaheu who played in the Women's section. Jodae was 8th= in a strong field, with +16, but a fantastic -2, 70 on Friday. Well done Jodae – we are all very proud of you.

I congratulate our new Club Captain, Tony Breeds, & Board Member Kerry McFadyen on their appointments. I am sure they will work for well-being of our great Club. Please come along to the AGM and show your support - Tuesday 24 April at 6pm.

Now we are ready to get some more golf, I hope the weather gods smile on us all! Good golfing!
