BOP Pennants Semi-Finals at Tauranga:- Sunday 8th April

This year we are fortunate to have home advantage for our three semi-final teams:

Championship Team Taupo v Tauranga

Intermediate Team Te Teko v Tauranga

Junior Team Taupo v Tauranga

All three teams have done well to get this far and with the luck of the draw giving us home advantage the day is set up for some good spectator sport. The Bar and Café will be open so please come along and lend your support!

The Matches are going to be played just nine days away from the start of the Carrus Open and so it’s pre-tournament condition it will add an extra layer of difficulty for the players. With this in mind, and in the sprit of Inter-club Pennants, the club has generously invited all of the semi-finalists to have a practice round on Friday 6th ; or as an when we can feed them into our Saturday start sheet without affecting our field or Cup Competition.

1. B

Cameron, Waitemata & Junior Cups.

The first round was played on Saturday 25th March and the Second round will be played this coming Saturday on the: 7th April.

Players are reminded that your best nett round from either of the two rounds played on 25th March or 7th April will be used as your qualifying round for the Aquila, Wilcox & Green Cups. Only one round counts and so if you missed out on the 25th March it is still not too late for you to qualify - if you play on the 7thApril!

Aquila, Wilcox & Green Cups

Using your best round, from either of the above mentioned two dates, The top 16 players in each division will have an automatic entry into the Matchplay series to be played as follows:

Round 1 19th May

Round 2 9th June

Round 3 7th July With the three divisional finals to be played on Finals day.

As stated entry into the Matchplay draw will be automatic but it will be YOUR responsibility to take yourself out of the competition if you cannot make all of the published rounds (just phone the Pro-shop) If you do this we can easily replace you with someone who just missed out and we can avoid the byes and annoying no-shows.

That said, and bearing in mind amount of time between rounds, If a match cannot be played on the due date the Men’s Committee will be sympathetic to requests to play matches before the next round is due if both players agree to it.

54 Hole Club Strokeplay Championship

This is the Club’s prestigious Strokeplay Championship to be played over 54 Holes in three Grades;

Round 1. 28th April

Round 2. 5th May

Round 3 12th May

Jay and his team will arrange a seeded draw for the top 12 players in each division for the final round on the 12th May; this should add to the atmosphere and again provide some good spectator sport.
