The AGM will be held Monday 30 April 2012 at 7pm.

We are now calling for nominations for the following positions:

President
Club Captain
2 x Board Members

Anna Brabyn has advised that she will not be seeking re election to the position of President. Anna has fulfilled this role since 2005 so we owe her a huge "thankyou" for her efforts over the years. The Club President is elected by the members for a one year term and has the following specific responsibilities:

1. Is a full voting member of the Board of Management (but may not serve as Chairperson).
2. Is the official club representative on all ceremonial and other public occassions where the Club is invited to send a representative.

The Club Captain is the senior elected official on the playing side and should be selected on the basis of their leadership qualities and ability to uphold the rules and traditions of the game. The Club Captain should be an experienced player with a thorough knowledge of the Rules of Golf and Tournament Management. The Club Captain is elected by members for a one year term and has the following specific responsibilities:

1. Chairs all meetings of the Players Committee.
2. Represents the Players Committee as a full voting member of the Board of Management (but may not Chair the Board of Management).
3. Attends the Club on occassions of interclub competitions and during major tournaments and assists on matters of tournament procedure and rules with regard to play as required by the match committee of the day.
4. Ensures that appropriate planning is being undertaken by the sub committees for all club competition to ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently.
5. Liases with the General Manager as required on matters of finance, administration and staff support for competitions and tournaments.
6. Liases directly with the members of the Players Committee on a regular basis to ensure good communications between the various player groups and adjudicates on disputes between the various player groups as required.
Michael Smith is our current Club Captain and has not yet indicated if he is seeking re election.

Board Members:
In summary, the Board of Management are responsible to the members for the control of all affairs of the Club. This is a responsible position and requires people who are keen to take an active role in the running of the Club. 

Bob Diprose and Graham Cathie's positions on the Board are up for renewal as they have completed 2 years. Bob has since resigned from the Club this year due to a knee injury, so he cannot stand again. Graham Cathie has indicated that he will stand again.

I will be standing down from the Board at the end of this term aswell. I have thoroughly enjoyed my brief encounter, however, I have been asked to stay on in the office in a more permanent position so in this respect, my Board seat will be vacated and the new incoming Board will appoint a replacement.
