The first ever Junior Girls Interprovincial was held last week
at Rotorua Golf Club. 7 provinces from all over the country
competed to be the first team to win what will be an annual
tournament playing for the title and the Brenda Ormsby trophy.
The strong under 21 BOP girls team named for the event
included Grace Senior (Rotorua), Tyler Kingi (Opotiki), Alanna
Campbell (Omanu), Zoe Tasma (Waihi), Brooke
Polley (Tauranga) and Erikah Wairiki (Taupo).
The girls won their first three matchs against Waikato,
North Harbour, and Canterbury. With a tight loss to Taranaki
and then a win over Northland, the girls were still in for a
chance on Friday. The girls had a final round loss to Auckland
which resulted in Bay of
Plenty coming 3rd.
The golf over the week was very impressive to watch, and a
special mention to Tauranga's Brooke Polley who shot one of
her best ever
rounds in a great win over her opponent.
